Who DOESN’T love ketchup!? It goes into just about EVERYTHING! It’s sweet and acidic and perfect. Even better, the base ingredients can support wellness!
Tomatoes are loaded with antioxidants like vitamin C, lycopene, and betacarotene.
In many store -bough varieties, there is added sugar, preservatives, and excess sodium. In some cases, there is more than HALF of the amount of added sugar in just 1 tbsp of store bought ketchup that we should be eating in the entire day!
In this recipe, the spices I use like garlic, onion, and mustard powder have LOTS of flavor, without adding artificial ingredients or added sugar and calories.
Ingredients:
2 – 12oz jars organic tomato paste
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried mustard powder
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp pink salt
2 tbsp stevia or monkfruit sweetener
1/4 organic cup apple cider vinegar – choose organic with the mother
1 cup water
BONUS ingredient – – add turmeric to boost the anti-inflammatory benefits ~
Instructions:
Add all ingredients to the food processor.
Process to combine all ingredients.
Allow to sit overnight in in refrigerator to meld all the flavors.
